Rare George Dancy sterling silver & glass choker necklace. This is handcrafted, hand signed and one of a kind. The glass on this piece does change shades slightly darker/lighter in different light. There is one bubble in the piece that has an amber undertone. Expertly made, these are part of Canada's jewelry history.
Circa 1950'sGeorge Dancy was a member of the Ontario (Canada) Metal Guild, working in Sterling Silver, glass, and stone. His work as an auto mechanic was cut short due to arthritis however this opened the doors to a second career in jewelry (1950's). Creating bold modernist design, his work is comparable to Andrew Fussell, Bob Ford, Douglas Boyd and Nancy Meek.
