Rare Bernard Chaudron Sterling Choker Necklace - Modernist Collar
Very rare Bernard Chaudron choker necklace made out of Sterling Silver with a raised navy blue resin oval. The wide choker has a hammered finish and can slightly adjusted for size. The collar is made slightly concave with the edges folding out slightly.
This is a masterpiece by the Canadian designer, most likely one of a kind. Chaudron's sterling designs are unique and comparable to Canadian design greats such as Walter Schluep.
Chaudron's jewelry is very rare and highly collected. He is known for his Bronze Necklaces, but his Sterling Silver jewelry rarely comes onto the market. His work is uniquely different but comparable to the other great Canadian Brutalist artists such as Larin, Vidal and Alfandary.
The collar measures approx. 1 1/8" wide. The Navy Blue resin oval measures approx. 5/8" long x 0.5" wide The sterling collar measures approx. 13.5 (largest) and can shrink to 12.5" Hallmarked "Sterling" and Chaudron's pictorial hallmark. Good vintage condition with minor surface wear and original patina.
