Rare Bernard Chaudron Cufflinks made out of Sterling Silver. These cufflinks have a deeply carved abstract Sun or Flower design. The cufflinks have hinged backs with deep textural design, minimal yet modern.
Chaudron's jewelry is very rare, only creating his jewelry in his early career. Most of his designs are abstract/geometric but occasionally he would create figural pieces. His jewelry career lasted from the late 1960's to the end of the 1970's. His cufflinks in bronze are rare but ones in sterling silver are even more so.
His work is uniquely different but comparable to the other great Canadian Brutalists such as Larin, Vidal and Alfandary.
The cufflinks measure approx. 0.75" in diameter Hallmarked "Sterling and his pictorial hallmark used on sterling pieces (two circles overlapping which creates a Cauldron)" It is in good vintage condition with appropriate wear and dark patina for it's age.
