Large Bernard Chaudron necklace made out of Bronze with stunning dark green enamel square. This piece has unique carved surface off set by two lines and an enamel square. The back is also highly textural and finished, could be worn both ways.
Chaudron's jewelry is very rare, only creating his jewelry in his early career. Most of his designs are abstract/geometric but occasionally he would create figural pieces. His jewelry career lasted from the late 1960's to the end of the 1970's. His epoxy/enamel work often glows in certain light, often working in stunning reds, teals, greens and oranges.
His work is uniquely different but comparable to the other great Canadian Brutalists such as Larin, Vidal and Alfandary.
The pendant measures 2 1/8" Chain measures a 23" in total length. Signed BC on the bail. It is in good vintage condition with appropriate wear and patina for it's age.
