Rare Bernard Chaudron Necklace made out of Bronze with Burnt Orange and Red epoxy/enamel. This piece is double sided, one side depicting a Mid Century Bird and the other side is a solid colour with the silhouette of the bird showing through.
Chaudron's jewelry is very rare, only creating his jewelry in his early career. Most of his designs are abstract/geometric but occasionally he would create figural pieces. His jewelry career lasted from the late 1960's to the end of the 1970's. His epoxy/enamel work often glows in certain light, often working in stunning reds, teals, greens and oranges.
His work is uniquely different but comparable to the other great Canadian Brutalist artists such as Larin, Vidal and Alfandary.
The Pendant is about 2" in diameter The chain is about 18" in total length. No visible hallmarks but unmistakably a piece by Chaudron. Necklace is in good vintage condition with appropriate wear and patina for it's age.
