Bernard Chaudron Brooch made out of Bronze with a pearl. This piece has unique carved cube design, with a smooth pearl to juxtapose. Chaudron's jewelry is very rare, only creating his jewelry in his early career. Most of his designs are abstract/geometric but occasionally he would create figural pieces. His jewelry career lasted from the late 1960's to the end of the 1970's. His epoxy/enamel work often glows in certain light, often working in stunning reds, teals, greens and oranges.
His work is uniquely different but comparable to the other great Canadian Brutalists such as Larin, Vidal and Alfandary.
The Brooch measures 1.75" x 1.25" Hallmarked "Chaudron" I am not sure if it is a real or faux pearl. It is in good vintage condition with appropriate wear and dark patina for it's age.
