Aarikka Rypäle Pendant Necklace - Modernist Finland
Stunning 1960's Aarikka necklace made out of different shades of green wood beads. This necklace is a wonderful example of Modernist Finnish design with it's simple clean lines and kinetic beads. Playful and charming, this piece is sure to bring a smile to anyone.
Aarikka Founded in 1954 by Kaija Aarikka and her husband, Erkki Ruokonen. The first products to be crafted by Aarikka were hand carved buttons. Following the success of her buttons she expanded her business within a few years to include her now iconic jewelry. Inspired by classic Finnish design, Aarikka's jewelry is unique, warm, simple and handcrafted.
Titled "Rypale Pendant" and dates from 1968 Pendant measures approx. 4" tall x 2" wide Chain measures approx. 16" in total length. Signed on hang tag "Kaija Aarikka Finland" Good vintage condition with some wear appropriate to age and original deep patina.
